Our Story
Roshni by Sunita blends India’s rich craft heritage with contemporary design, empowering artisans and preserving timeless traditions.
Our Story
What she found in Himachal Pradesh was a craft under quiet pressure, extraordinary skill, passed down for generations, with a shrinking market that understood its value. Her response was to bring contemporary colour, scale and pattern to traditional weaves, including hand-woven wool tapestries that render Himalayan landscapes thread by thread, so the work could find buyers in Indian cities and overseas, at prices that sustain a weaving household. Today, 250 weavers are actively engaged in the programme.
Roshni by Sunita is also where Sunita’s other lifelong craft lives: Zardozi embroidery and other handmade objects, gathered under The Collective. These pieces are made by different artisans, in different parts of Northern India, chosen with the same eye and care Sunita brings to her own weaving partnerships, so that fine hand-work from beyond the mountains finds a home under the same roof.
Our Mission
To preserve India’s rich craft heritage by empowering artisans through thoughtful design, meaningful collaboration, and sustainable livelihoods.
Our Vision
To bring India’s timeless craftsmanship to the world, keeping traditional skills alive for generations to come.
